Director of Dietary Services
Planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department, ensuring compliance with facility standards and applicable Federal and State food service sanitation regulations. Directs the preparation and serving of regular and therapeutic meals. Provides and documents nutritional care for residents and directs the dietary system. Responsible for all aspects of financial and human resource management of the department.
* Bachelors of Science degree in Food Service Management or Food and Nutrition preferred.
* Dietetic Associates Degree or successful completion of a Food Service management course, eligible for certifications (member of the American Dietetic Association) or the Certified Dietary Managers Association.
* Food Service Sanitation certificate per State/Local requirements.
* 1-2 years management experience preferred.
* Ability to follow standardized recipes.
* Ability to manage people and budgets
* Ability to successfully relate and respond to the need of management, employees, and residents.
* Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, and objectives, policies and procedures, etc. of the Food and Beverage Department.
* Ability to communicate effectively, in writing, as well as verbally.
* Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periods.
* Ability to push/pull objects and lift/carry up to 20 lbs. unassisted on a frequent basis (occasionally up to 50 pounds, unassisted).
* Must have full use of gross and fine motor skills of the upper and lower extremities.
* Ability to work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
* Working Knowledge of basic computer applications preferred.
* Ability to represent and articulate the BHCS mission, vision, and strategies in developing, implementing and coordinating the department.
